Gaming Hoopla 2020 UPDATE
The Gaming Hoopla Cancelled for 2020
As time continues to pass and we are seeing that recovery from COVID-19 is going to take far more time than originally thought, we’ve become worried that August may be too soon to run the Gaming Hoopla. While some social distancing may relax over the summer, projections are looking doubtful that 100+ person events will be allowed. Given Gen Con’s and SPIEL’s recent cancellation announcements, the chances are looking extremely unlikely that larger events are possible in August.
Thus, it is with great sadness that we are making the heart-breaking decision to cancel the Gaming Hoopla completely for 2020. Please know that this decision was very difficult for our staff, as we have always used the Hoopla as a way to foster both joy and hope for all attendees, but the health and safety of attendees must take first priority. Happily, we have already booked April 23rd-25th, 2021 with the hotel, so a huge thanks to the DoubleTree and Hilton for allowing us to roll over the Hoopla to next year without a financial penalty! A couple of logistics:

A couple of logistics:
- You will automatically receive a refund from Tabletop.Events for your badge and any other merch that you purchased within 5-10 days of us starting the cancellation process. You do not need to manually cancel your badge. Please note that we cannot refund the transaction fee, since that fee is under the control of the payment processing company and not Tabletop.Events.
- We will open registration back up in January 2021 and we will start fresh for a new year, with new registrations, events, silent auction, etc.
- Spread the word that the Hoopla will reappear in 2021 - mark your calendars now!
