Gaming Hoopla 2020-2021 UPDATE

Based on the projections for vaccine deployment in 2021, and the announcements of other gaming events scheduled for early 2021, we decided to move the 2021 Hoopla to later in the year.  Moving early allows us to have more choices with the DoubleTree Hilton, and allow our attendees to have greater time to plan. We hope everyone's gaming calendar will be packed by the end of 2021, and we wanted to stake our claim on weekends in the fall now!

Again, it was an agonizing decision for us to postpone not once, not twice, but now a third time, but the health and safety of attendees must take first priority. A huge thanks to the DoubleTree and Hilton for allowing us to roll over the Hoopla dates, AGAIN, without a financial penalty! A few logistics:

  • We normally open badge and event registration in January but that will be delayed until likely late Spring / early Summer.  It will allow us to see how vaccinations are going and ensure we’re providing a safe environment for everyone.
  • The plan is to maintain all regular Hoopla events in Oct 2021: open gaming, silent auction, math trade, tournaments, and (of course) the BEST RAFFLE EVER!
  • Attendees will still have a convention rate for staying at the DoubleTree and we encourage everyone to consider staying at the hotel.  Gaming Hoopla depends on our attendees filling the hotel to keep the cost of the convention space down and maximize our donation to Aurora Cancer Care!  Rate will be $99 per night.

In the meantime, please feel free to DONATE to the Hoopla in 2020 (which is tax deductible) at http://www.gaminghoopla.com/donate.html and those donations will still go to Aurora Cancer Care.

And hang in there! Gaming is a way to bring us all together, and we hope the light is at the end of the tunnel. And with your continued support, let’s make that statement true for cancer as well!

Badges will be sold at the door IF space is still available, availability is not guaranteed.

Badge prices are an additional $5 at the door.

2019 Gaming Hoopla Recap

Gaming Hoopla 2019 is over and we hope you guys had as much fun as we did! Once again, this year we broke some Hoopla records:
  • We had a whopping 477 scheduled events, as well as lots of open gaming from the Hoopla Games Library and the Play And Win table!
  • We had a record total of 575 unique attendees!
  • Our Silent Auction raised a record $4,400!
  • Best of all, we donated $26,422 to Aurora Cancer Care!!
We want to give a special thanks to all of our attendees who came out to support us, especially those of you that ran events and participated in our Silent Auction. We couldn't do this without you, and we wouldn't want to!
We also want to thank the generous sponsors and amazing exhibitors. You are what makes the event so profitable for Aurora Cancer Care and makes our record setting donations possible!
Last, but not least, we want to thank our special guests, Erin Hareng of Aurora Cancer Care and friend of the Hoopla Lee Maile, for coming and speaking during our closing ceremonies. Hearing from you guys personally is what makes everything we all do for Gaming Hoopla worth it!  We're energized and looking forward to a great Hoopla in 2020!
