Hoopla in the City
First there were Vikings, then a journey into space, a trek through the wild, and now back to the bustling city! Ken Lewandowski and Vicki McKinley are back with a city-themed tournament. Throughout the weekend, there will be games that are part of the tournament. The better you do in each game the more points you will get. Who will prove to be the best urbanite and city planner at Gaming Hoopla?
Crokinole turns 5!
Crokinole is back for the fifth consecutive Gaming Hoopla . On Saturday, there will be a casual play session where all forms of Crokinole like flicking and cues Crokinole and even 5-Hole Crokinole which is an absolute blast playing 4 player. And Crokinole skills will be tested by Chicago and Milwaukee's best Crokinolers in the Crokinole Singles Tournament
Netrunner Learn to Play and Tournament
Test your newly acquired Netrunner skills in multiple games against fellow learners! Prizes will include multiple copies of System Gateway, from which the learner decks are built, one copy of System Update '21 for expanded deckbuilding, and other Netrunner goodies - nobody will leave empty-handed!
The tournament will be non-elimination, consisting of four two-game rounds with 13-16 players, or three rounds with 12 or fewer players.
Each round is allotted 70 minutes, which is often excessive. The scheduled time allows for maximum time per round with short breaks between each.
New players only - Participation in a learn-to-play event or assurances of being a new or returning player are required.
All players will play the System Gateway learning decks used in the learn-to-play events.
A break of approximately 1 hour will be taken at 2:00 pm for the Closing Ceremonies.

Illinois State Championships
Gaming Hoopla is the Illinois destination for a wide variety of Game State Championships. The game lineup this year includes Finger Guns and High Noon, Coup, SHOBU, Bohnanza, boop, Silver, Cat in the Box, Skull King, and Dimension. Winner of each tournament takes the title of Illinois State Champion and will get a seat at the regional championships and a free badge to Geekway to the West.
