Hoopla in the City
Harness your inner urban planner with the fourth year of the themed tournament hosted by attendee GMs Ken Lewandowski and Vicky McKinley. Participate in as many events as you like, simply register for an event with a "Hoopla in the City:" prefix on TableTop.Events and you are automatically part of the tournament. The more you play, the more points you will acquire. (See Tournament Scoring below)
Titles included:
This year's Hoopla in the City Tournament will include any games with a historical, existing, or fantasy city in the title of the game as well as games revolving around building a city, buildings or structures within a city.
Titles not included:
Colony, nation and civilization-building games will not be included, nor will games focusing on transportation or agriculture.
Specific titles not included: Agricola, Ark Nova, Puerto Rico, Maglev Metro, Mosaic, Terraforming Mars, Through the Ages

We Need You!Event Judges WantedIf you are interested in running any games with cities in the name or games involving city building please submit your games via the tabletop.events event submission page. When asked whether you would like your game included in the Hoopla in the City tournament, simply select Yes and your game will be included.

Tournament Scoring
For every game you participate in, you will be awarded a certain amount of points based on how long the game you are playing is and what position you finished in.
Event Judges can earn points this year for games they participate in.
Competitive Games will score as follows:
Cooperative games will score based on the team's success or failure
Players will get points based on how well they do plus participation points based on game length. Game length is set in advance from the Accepted Games List
Example: A player places 2nd in a four player game of Quadropolis and scores 4 total points, 2 points for second place in a multiplayer game and 2 points for participating in a 2 hour game
NOTE: Players will only score their highest point total if multiple of the same game is played

- Games for three or more players will have:
- 1st Place score 4 points
- 2nd Place score 2 points
- 3rd Place scoring 1 point
- 4th place or below will score zero points
- Games for two players
- Winning Player will score 2 points
- Losing Player will score 0 points

- 3 points each for winning
- 1 point each for losing
